Weather and Landscape
The weather has been very good, with rain almost every day. This has made the already breathtaking landscape beautifully green. The temperatures have been warm during the day though cooling down considerably at night.

Game viewing has been especially good with big herds of eland and roan antelope; also zebra, leopard, hyaena and elephant. Both morning and afternoon game drives have been very rewarding with the highlight being a herd of 35 roan moving across an open area in clear view of our guests.

Night drives have also been very productive as we have been treated to serval and leopard sightings. We were also very lucky, encountering porcupine on a regular basis.

Birds and Birding
Birding has been great too and we have enjoyed the presence of the migratory bird species. Raptor sightings in particular have been very good as black-shouldered kites, Steppe buzzards and pallid harriers were seen on most drives.

Among the bigger birds, we had some really incredible vulture sightings throughout the month. On one occasion, we found a variety of vulture species feeding on an eland carcass.
