Climate and Landscape
It was pretty windy at Damaraland Camp during June. The easterly winds dominated the weather, sometimes starting first thing in the morning and carrying on until the evening. However, this did not stop our guests from enjoying what the area has to offer.
Very exciting news this month is that the desert-adapted elephants are back near camp, instead of a ways off at Twyfelfontein. Staff and guests alike are thrilled!
There were good amounts of other game such as Hartmann’s zebra, springbok and gemsbok (oryx), and excitingly, lion tracks were also reported, although no sightings as yet.
“Sundowner dinner in the boma, just being here in super company. We are so impressed with all the staff, their kindness and all the help with Chester – they helped him all the way. What a wonderful crew you have here, happiness is everywhere. Abner is a great guide, so wonderful and informative and fun. Thank you all for making Chester's bucket list a reality and complete. Pretty good for a 95 year old.”
