Climate and Landscape
It is about time the weather changed at Desert Rhino Camp! And so it did; towards the end of June we could feel the nip in the air – as is expected for this time of the year. The camp staff reported one very cold morning of just 12° Celsius!
Elephant, rhino and lion sightings were the wildlife highlights around Desert Rhino Camp in June.
Rhino tracking was very successful during the month, and general game was really good during the month too. Hartmann’s zebra and gemsbok (oryx) sightings were plentiful during the month.
Elephant came past camp just to provide some excitement for the staff in the guests’ absence.
Lions were seen in the area and numerous sightings of brown hyaena were also recorded.
