Donald was born in the Central Province in 1966. After graduating with a high school certificate, he worked in the maintenance department and as a waiter at Tongabezi Lodge in Livingstone before completing a river guide course.

Donald took his boating skill a bit further when he trekked down the Zambezi to Kariba where he learnt and eventually captained on the houseboats. When he returned to Livingstone in 2008, he joined Wilderness Safaris as the senior river guide soon after Toka Leya Camp opened. Besides his great knowledge of the wildlife, Donald is a seasoned and passionate fisherman, a role which has made him very popular with all of our guests when try their hand at catch and release tiger fishing.

Donald spends a lot of time at the Toka Leya Nursery germinating and planting indigenous trees as well as sharing his knowledge of the trees indigenous to Zambia.
