Godfrey was born in 1975 in Livingstone. After graduating from high school, he took a huge interest in boats and the Zambezi River which has always been something he saw as he was growing up. He worked as a cleaner in one of the boats in Livingstone which allowed him an opportunity to learn all there is to learn about boats. Godfrey went to qualify as a boat captain and took charge of one of the boats where he slowly rose up to the supervisors’ role. He joined Toka Leya soon after construction in 2008 as a river guide. His interest for guiding grew with time and he studied for the Mosi-oa-Tunya guide licence which he passed and was promoted to a junior guide.

Godfrey  is a very passionate guide and even after passing the guides examinations, he still took time to join other senior guides on activities and learn more about wildlife. Godfrey has a bright smile and his friendly nature accompanies our guests on all the activities he leads. He is an all rounder who guests can be with on the river, game drives as well as Victoria Falls tours and he finds joy in sharing his great knowledge of the area as well as the fauna and flora
