Sighting: Sand Snake Kill in Camp
Location: Kalahari Plains Camp, Central Kalahari, Botswana
Date: 10 October 2013
Photographer and Observer: Lopang ‘ Lops’ Rampeba

Snakes are one of my personal favourite species, especially when viewing them in their natural environment without disturbing them, so having the opportunity to watch a successful snake hunt was really exciting.

This morning on my way to the camp office, I stopped along the way to view a stripe-bellied sand snake just off of the walkway. Suddenly I noticed that the snake was coiled around what appeared to be a striped skink. Luckily my camera was not far from hand and I managed to capture a few images.
