Climate and Landscape
Serra Cafema was blessed with both sunny and cloudy days, and even a few drops of rain this month. The temperatures were warm and humid and the beautiful Kunene River changed colour, confirming that southern Angola must have received a good amount of rain too.
There is a new addition to the Hartmann’s Valley zebra population. The herd now consists of one big stallion, four young stallions, 13 mares and one foal. Hopefully there are more foals on the way.
The guides also had a very rare sighting of a baby jackal, happily exploring and posing for photos.
Birds and Birding
Birds spotted at Serra Cafema included Egyptian geese, a goliath heron and a lovely rare Madagascar bee-eater.
