Pafuri Camp, Kruger, South Africa

Pafuri Camp is an Adventures Camp

Wildlife at Pafuri Camp

Pafuri Camp's large herds of elephant and buffalo concentrate around the permanent Luvuvhu River in the dry winter months. At Crooks' Corner, the Luvuvhu supports hippo and crocodile. Other mammals of interest include eland, Burchell's zebra, wildebeest, Sharpe's grysbok, yellow-spotted rock dassie, greater kudu and waterbuck as well as lion and leopard.

A Mecca for birdwatchers, there are species here that are found nowhere else in South Africa like Böhm's and mottled spinetails, racket-tailed roller and southern hyliota. Other specials are black-throated wattle-eye and Pel's fishing-owl.

A Quote From Our Guests

“ I was utterly blown away. Not only is the Makuleke Concession much quieter than the rest of the Kruger Park, but the diversity of animals, birds and type is vegetation is incredible. ”
