Wildlife on Zimbabwe Showcase
Mammals are prolific in the Matobo Hills area, and include the highest concentration of leopard and Verreauxs' eagle in the world, while Hwange’s wildlife includes lion, large herds of elephant, buffalo, leopard and spotted hyaena amongst others. Mana Pools is home to elephant, crocodile, lion, wild dog, plains game and large pods of hippo. In Matusadona, elephant frequent the shoreline of Kariba as do numerous species of antelope. Lion, leopard, hyaena and cheetah occur in good numbers and a small population of black rhino roam the Park. Birdlife is superb in all the areas.
