Suggested Itineraries

The huge continent of Africa offers a bewildering array of choices: so much to see and do, yet where to begin, what to combine and how long do I need, in order to create that ultimate safari? Our suggested itineraries are a starting point, showcasing just some of the best of each country, combining a selection of its excellent features into one seamless journey.

These itineraries take in the most biodiverse areas, intentionally combining different landscapes and vegetation types to ensure you can cram as much as possible into the most logistically feasible trips and experience different wildlife species, cultures, scenery and activities.

  • Best of Botswana

     

    This nine-day itinerary includes three completely diverse areas in Botswana – the Central Kalahari, the Okavango Delta and the Linyanti region. The combination of these three areas offers a wide variety and abundance of animal and birdlife in each area’s own unique landscape.

    Brief Itinerary
    Days 1 & 2: Fly from Maun Airport for two nights at Kalahari Plains Camp, Central Kalahari Game Reserve
    Days 3, 4 & 5: Fly to the Okavango Delta for three nights; stay at a Premier or Classic camp
    Days 6, 7 & 8: Fly to the Linyanti region for three nights; stay at Kings Pool, DumaTau or Savuti Camp
    Day 9: Return to Maun Airport

  • Segera Retreat

     

    Segera Retreat, nestled on the foothills of Mount Kenya, has a rich diversity of free-roaming wildlife. It is easily combined with other well-known areas in Kenya, such as Masai Mara National Reserve and Amboseli National Park.

    Brief Itinerary
    Day 1: Fly to Nairobi, overnight at Giraffe Manor
    Days 2-5: Morning private charter to Segera Retreat, Laikipia Plateau
    Day 6: Private charter to Nairobi

    Segera Retreat & North Island

     

    A fabulous combination of the wildlife that travels the vast spaces of Kenya’s Laikipia Plateau and the blue-green ocean and white sands of the Seychelles.

    Brief Itinerary:
    Days 1–5: Private charter from Nairobi to Segera Retreat, Laikipia Plateau, for five nights
    Days 6-10: Private charter from Segera Retreat to Nairobi; then scheduled flight from Nairobi to Mahé, Seychelles. Helicopter transfer from Mahé to North Island for five nights

  • Best of Namibia

     

    Namibia has a wide range of unique places, incredible scenery and fascinating wildlife. While any combination of time and place can be made, a flying safari such as the below takes in some of the finest areas: Sossusvlei’s legendary red dunes, the rugged topography of Damaraland and the wildlife-filled Etosha National Park. Accommodation is in small luxury camps set within Wilderness Safaris private concessions, while Wilderness Air transfers guests seamlessly between destinations.

    Days 1 & 2: From Windhoek, fly to Little Kulala, Kulala Wilderness Reserve, Sossusvlei for two nights
    Days 3 & 4: Fly north to the Torra Conservancy for two nights at Damaraland Camp OR 2 nights at Desert Rhino Camp in the Palmwag Concession, Damaraland
    Days 5 & 6: Fly to Ongava Tented Camp OR Ongava Lodge, for two nights in the Ongava Game Reserve, Etosha
    Day 7: Air transfer back to Windhoek

  • Rocktail Beach Camp

  • Best of Zambia

     

    In a week you can take in two of Zambia's finest areas: the expansive Busanga Plains of Zambia’s Kafue National Park along with the impressive and mesmerising Victoria Falls. Undertaking this safari will leave one with a yearning for more and ensure some phenomenal safari memories!

  • Best of Zimbabwe

     

    This safari is a seamless combination of two of the most outstanding and spectacular areas in Zimbabwe. Beginning in eastern Hwange National Park, the largest park in Zimbabwe and renowned for its incredible concentrations of wildlife, we then move on to Ruckomechi Camp on the mighty Zambezi River, adjacent to Mana Pools National Park, which allows for magnificent scenic and wildlife viewing.
