Growing up in Zambia and spending much of his youth in the bush, David developed a passion for the wilderness and its complexities. Later, he accompanied patrols to combat elephant and rhino poaching, tracking both animals and people, before graduating to a guiding career in Zimbabwe. In the intervening years David has travelled extensively in south and central Africa including the mysterious island of Madagascar and the Seychelles. His travels took him to Malawi where he managed a lakeside lodge doing kayaking trips and scuba diving in the crystal clear waters.

David now lives and works in Botswana where he initially managed a unique houseboat on the Okavango River as well as some prime camps in the most remote areas of the Delta. He has been guiding groups for five years and presently leads Botswana trips through some of the most unique and pristine wilderness areas. He specialises in elephants and birds and has a passion for reptiles including chameleons! Aside from this he has also led expeditions to various destinations outside of southern Africa including the Arctic for polar bears and Uganda for gorillas and chimpanzees. David loves photography, scuba diving the Indian Ocean and fly-fishing when not busy.

He is currently one of the most experienced and knowledgeable walking guides in northern Botswana. Besides his passion for leading trips he also has been involved with Wilderness Safaris' "Children in the Wilderness" programme.
