December 2015 – Wilderness Safaris is thrilled to announce that Linkwasha Camp in Zimbabwe’s Hwange National Park has been included in the prestigious 2016 Tatler Travel Guide as one of the 101 Best Hotels in the World.
“We are delighted that the editors of Tatler have included Linkwasha amongst the world’s best hotels, not only recognising the understated luxury of the camp itself, but also the extraordinary safari experience on offer in Hwange. Since opening in May, we have been extremely proud to offer guests a higher level of luxury in the Park, demonstrating our continued commitment to growing ecotourism in Zimbabwe”, says Ron Goatley, Wilderness Safaris Zambezi MD.
Linkwasha Camp is situated in a private game-rich concession and has been designed to perfectly complement Wilderness Safaris’ other properties in Hwange National Park, Little Makalolo and Davison’s Camp, each catering to the needs and budgets of different markets.
Activities make the most of the exceptional year-round wildlife-viewing opportunities the area has to offer, with regular sightings of large herds of elephant and buffalo, prides of lion, and an abundance of plains game and birdlife. Activities include walking safaris and interpretative game drives led by highly experienced Wilderness Safaris guides, as well as community visits and sundowners in the bush.
Describing their experience at Linkwasha Camp, the Tatler Travel Guide said: “We are head over heels for Zim: the people, the wildlife and now the new Linkwasha Camp. This is a game-changer. The design is slick, chic, modern: burnished copper tables, bold patterns, organic fabrics. Each of the nine huge tents has floor-to-ceiling glass doors that open onto a deck with views of a waterhole as congested as Piccadilly at Christmas. The breakfasts are legendary, and the 6am morning drive through picture-postcard savannah is bountiful beyond belief. Then it’s back to this joyous camp, where the belly laughter of staff and guests may just drown out the siren howl of black-backed jackals calling their mates home.”
Representing the best properties around the globe, the annual Tatler Travel Guide is selected by the publication’s editorial team, who personally visit hundreds of hotels, lodges and camps and handpick those that made the biggest impression on them during the course of the year. The full list will appear in the January 2016 edition of Tatler magazine.
