September 2016 – North Island in Seychelles has been listed in Condé Nast Traveller’s prestigious Readers’ Travel Awards 2016 as the fifth best hotel in the Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean category. The annual Reader’s Travel Awards showcase the World’s Top 100 hotels, countries, islands and airlines, as voted for by the readers of this luxury travel magazine.
“We are extremely proud of our team at North Island for their ongoing dedication to go above and beyond our guests’ expectations in order to ‘spoil, surprise and personalise’ each individual stay. We are constantly evolving our offering to remain amongst the world’s best private islands and are delighted that our guests and the readers of Condé Nast Traveller have voted for us in these prestigious awards. It is encouraging to see that North has remained a firm favourite over the past few years, consistently being listed within the top five hotels in Middle East, Africa and Indian Ocean”, said Bruce Simpson, North Island Managing Director.
Hundreds of readers took part in the 2016 survey by voting for their favourite hotels, airlines, spas and countries according to various criteria, such as service, design and value for money, with the results published in the magazine’s October issue. North Island’s “royally approved bedrooms” were listed as one of the reasons readers were impressed with the Island. Additional recognition was also given to Seychelles which was listed as the fifth best island in the world; the article describes how its “primordial forests and pounding surf gave these tropical isles high marks for scenery”.
“It is also an incredible endorsement for Seychelles to have consistently been rated amongst the readers’ top island destinations, highlighting its untouched natural beauty that attracts a range of discerning travellers, from honeymooning couples to families across the generations. We look forward to continue evolving our barefoot luxury approach to remain amongst the world’s best and to welcome many more guests to this remarkable region”, added Simpson.
With a completed architectural renovation and full softs and décor refurbishment and refined food offering, North Island has taken its overall guest experience to a new level. The combination of the generous all-inclusive offering, spacious private villas, and wide range of activities – from relaxing to exhilarating – plus the natural beauty of the Island make for a luxury hideaway second to none.
