March 2016 – Prestigious German luxury travel magazine, Traveller’s World, has named North Island, Seychelles as the number one hotel in the world in its Traveller’s World Awards Top 100 List, featured in the March 2016 issue.
The results were announced at the ITB travel trade show in Berlin, where North Island was also shortlisted in the Best Hideaway category in the equally prestigious Connoisseur Circle Awards. The annual Traveller’s World Awards mark the best addresses worldwide for travellers in 10 different categories – voted for by the readers of this premium magazine.
“Germany, Austria and Switzerland are very important markets for North Island”, commented Nick Solomon, General Manager of North Island. “We are therefore delighted to receive this recognition in these awards and listings, which acknowledge the new heights in service, décor and generosity of guest experience that the Island has achieved in the last year”.
2015 was a particularly exciting year for North Island, as the world’s leading tropical island hideaway continued to evolve. Following on from 2014’s extensive softs and décor refurbishment, the Island has embarked on an architectural renovation focusing on replacing exterior woodwork and other organic materials such as decks and roofing.
At the same time, North Island has taken its food offering and overall guest experience to a new level, based on a philosophy encapsulated in the three words: ‘Spoil. Surprise. Personalise’. “We truly pride ourselves on delighting guests with a tailor-made Island experience that goes beyond their expectations; often anticipating their desires even before they are expressed”, added Solomon. “The combination of the generous all-inclusive offering, spacious private villas, and wide range of activities – from relaxing to exhilarating – plus the natural beauty of the Island make for a hideaway second to none”.
In this way, North Island – one of the pioneers of the concept of barefoot luxury–continues to be ranked among the world’s leading private islands.
