North Island Raises the “Minibar”

October 2015 – As one of the world’s most exclusive private islands, North Island, Seychelles has yet again ‘raised the bar’ by introducing an even more generous minibar offering in each of its 11 luxurious guest villas.

“Under the guidance of consulting executive chef Jeremy Vermaak, we have refreshed and revitalised our entire food offering on North Island, which includes the generosity of our minibar offering”, affirmed General Manager, Nick Solomon. “Each minibar is more like a generously-stocked pantry, combining the comforts of home with the temptations and extravagance of a private island holiday. No two in-villa pantries are the same; each one is stocked exclusively according to our guests’ specific tastes. You can expect to find what you’d want in your pantry at home along with a few generous surprises thrown in by our chef and sommelier to tempt and to spoil you”, he added.

North Island’s pantry offering is abundant and guests can enjoy a variety of local delicacies, from sun-dried slices of Island-grown fruits to notoriously indulgent home-baked chocolate chip cookies. The Island’s discreetly attentive villa attendants are attuned to guests’ wishes, often fulfilling them even before they have been expressed. Preferred drinks are always on ice, and a cappuccino or latte just a gesture away.

Jars of sweets, and homemade treats, from nougat and cakes to cookies and fudge, will tempt the most determined of dieters, whilst a selection of fresh and stewed fruits, yogurts, and granola make for the perfect revitalising snack after early morning beach walks. Freshly-baked crusty bread is replenished every day and can be tossed into the picnic basket with an assortment of pâtés, cheeses and pickles (all conveniently close by in the pantry fridge and just waiting to be sampled). Nuts, crisps, pretzels and truffles are on hand to quell any midnight snack craving and a blackboard of in-villa dining suggestions offers daily choices for something more substantial.

Beyond the pantry offering, North Island’s chefs are experts at creating dishes that perfectly complement the mood of each of the many dining venues on North Island. Guests can choose between the sophisticated elegance of the Island Piazza overlooking East Beach, or chill out with cocktails, tapas and freshly-baked pizza at West Beach Bar. When guests choose to stay “at home” to enjoy the exclusivity and privacy of their villa, the chefs have developed an in-villa dining experience which is all about comfort food and personal choice.

The home-style menu lets guests opt for a local Creole curry or classic dish of their choice, delivered to their door while they relax in their newly-refurbished villa.

North Island is all about defying the ordinary, and its new dining offering, as manifested in the generosity of the pantries and in-villa food experience, is entirely in keeping with the Island’s stated mission: to spoil and surprise each and every guest with a generous and personalised offering.
