December 2016 – As Africa’s leading authentic and sustainable ecotourism company, Wilderness Safaris is delighted that Travel + Leisure has nominated no less than 23 of its luxury safari camps and lodges from six different countries in its prestigious 2017 World’s Best Awards Survey.
In addition to these nominations in the respective hotel categories, Wilderness Safaris has been included in the survey’s Best Tour Operator and Safari Outfitters category. Readers and travellers are now encouraged to vote online with the poll being live until 6 March 2017 and the winners announced in publication’s August edition.
“We are proud that so many of our camps have been nominated in this prestigious survey, especially to have such a range of our camps selected from six of the African countries where we operate. This illustrates the extent of our ability to affect positive change through high-end ecotourism whilst consistently achieving high standards of luxury and hospitality in a diverse range of pristine wilderness environments”, said Chris Roche, Wilderness Safaris Chief Marketing Officer.
Wilderness Safaris’ approach to ecotourism, namely to conserve pristine wildlife habitats and the species that depend on them, in collaboration with governments, local communities and other stakeholders, has been successfully replicated by the company in the eight countries in which it now operates. Its ability to not only adopt an ecologically-sensitive approach to its operations, but to do so without compromising on the high standards of luxury and service that international experiential travellers expect, is reflected in the prevalence of the 23 Wilderness Safaris camps listed in the 2017 World’s Best Awards Survey.
Representing the best in travel, the annual World's Best Awards are based on the results of the survey which will be run online until 6 March 2017. To learn more about the survey, or to cast your vote, click here.
