Toka Leya Rejuvenates Health and Wellness Offering

Feb 10, 2016 | Wilderness Safaris

February 2016Wilderness Safaris Toka Leya Camp has rejuvenated its health and wellness offering by rebuilding its spa and gym, providing the perfect sanctuary for rest and relaxation within Zambia’s Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park.

The upgraded wellness area now includes a separate spa treatment room with outdoor decking overlooking the broad, sparkling Zambezi River, where guests can also enjoy Pilates or yoga. A new air-conditioned fitness room has also been added, featuring gym equipment such as weights, exercise bike and a treadmill for those who like to keep active while on safari.

The style of the treatment rooms allows guests to enjoy their spa experience to the hypnotising sounds of the river, while Africology, one of Africa’s leading holistic treatment ranges, is used for massages, scrubs and facials. Products are eco-friendly and 100% biodegradable, using only natural ingredients, in line with Toka Leya’s commitment to a light footprint on the environment and its 4Cs sustainability ethic (Conservation, Community, Culture and Commerce).

“The Zambezi region offers guests some of the most spectacular natural wonders and adventure activities. By enhancing our spa and gym at Toka Leya, the camp is now equally as appealing as a stand-alone destination where guests can choose from a wide range of activities, or simply relax and enjoy the spectacular setting for a few days before or after a safari”, says Ron Goatley, MD of Wilderness Safaris Zambezi Region.

Toka Leya’s 12 spacious safari-style tents naturally lend themselves to relaxation, including romantic outdoor baths and raised decks with expansive drop-down sitting areas offering beautiful views of the Zambezi. The camp’s infinity pool is also a welcome distraction from the warm summer days and evenings.

Perfectly situated near Livingstone and just 12 km from the renowned Victoria Falls, Toka Leya is well placed to offer a number of water- and land-based activities – from cruises and tiger fishing on the Zambezi to game drives, nature walks and white rhino tracking in Mosi-oa-Tunya National Park. Exploration of the area includes tours of the Falls, as well as Livingstone town and its local markets and villages. Other activities on offer nearby include bungee jumping, white water rafting, helicopter flights, microlighting and jet boating.
