October 2014 – Wilderness Safaris is thrilled to announce that three of its Botswana camps have been listed in the Top 20 Safari Lodges and Camps in Africa category in the 2014 US Condé Nast Traveler Readers’ Choice Awards. Mombo and Little Mombo were ranked 7th, while Kings Pool was placed 11th and Little Vumbura 20th. Both Mombo and Kings Pool also made it into the Top 100 Hotels and Resorts in the World.
“We are extremely proud that once again, readers of Condé Nast have named our camps amongst the best in Africa. We are particularly excited that no less than three camps made this year’s list – a huge vote of confidence for the meaningful and life-changing experiences we aim to provide at all of our properties throughout Botswana”, said Grant Woodrow, MD of Wilderness Safaris Botswana.
Over 77 000 readers voted for their favourite hotels, airlines, spas and countries in this annual readers’ survey to showcase the best that the travel world has to offer. All three camps have an extremely light ecological footprint and are committed to Wilderness Safaris’ 4Cs ethos (Commerce, Conservation, Community and Culture). The camps are also world renowned for offering extraordinary wildlife encounters along with warm local hospitality, delicious fresh food and unparalleled levels of comfort.
“Botswana is one of Africa’s foremost wildlife and ecotourism destinations – one that embraces a true low impact and high experiential value tourism model. We are proud to operate in Botswana’s pristine wilderness areas and look forward to promoting its rich wildlife diversity by welcoming many more guests in the years to come”, Woodrow added.
