September 2017 – Wilderness Safaris’ new Star Bed at DumaTau Camp not only offers guests a luxurious and exciting sleep-out adventure in the heart of the Linyanti, Botswana, but also exclusive front-row seats to the spectacular Zibadianja Lagoon and the diversity of wildlife that congregates there.
Located at the confluence of the Savute Channel and the Linyanti fault line, a pristine wilderness area that teems with elephant, hippo and other wildlife, DumaTau’s Star Bed will be available for guests to enjoy during the dry season, from approximately 1 April to 30 November each year. Until the end of November 2017, guests staying at the camp for three nights or more with a private vehicle booking will be able to stay at the Star Bed at no additional cost.
“This is no ordinary hide to sleep in; it oozes luxury and tranquillity and truly embraces this exceptional wilderness area”, said Wilderness Safaris Botswana MD, Kim Nixon. “To be able to experience the Zibadianja Lagoon in such an exclusive way, with no-one else around you for miles on end and only the sounds of nature breaking the silence, is a rare and unique opportunity – one that we are sure will surpass our guests’ expectations”.
Situated about 45 minutes’ drive from the main camp, the Star Bed is perfect for a couple looking to experience a romantic night under the stars or for an intimate family of four (the minimum age limit is 13 years old). The Star Bed, under a wooden roof, is equipped with a double bed, and two single beds (for a family), all covered by mosquito nets. There is also an open-air dining area, sunken lounge and basic ablution facilities. An experienced guide will be available nearby to ensure the safety of guests at all times.
“As more and more of our guests seek new and different safari experiences that help them to not only reconnect with nature, but also with themselves and their loved ones, we are thrilled to offer this Star Bed adventure at DumaTau. It is the perfect option for those who want to experience a unique perspective of the African bush”, Nixon concluded.
