November 2015 – Wilderness Safaris is proud to announce that it has been named the Best Safari Company in the inaugural Brides magazine Honeymoon Awards, which were held at the Hotel Café Royal on London’s Regent Street on 13 November.
“We are delighted to have been included in the inaugural edition of these awards”, says Chief Sales Officer, Dave Bennett. “As honeymoons are mostly a once-in-a-lifetime opportunity for our guests, we are constantly striving to reinvent and refine our offering to showcase the romance of Africa in diverse ways: lantern-lit bush dining under the stars, private bush picnics in the Delta or romantic desert sundowners, to name a few. This esteemed recognition only serves to inspire us even further to create immersive and life-changing journeys for our guests”.
During the awards ceremony, the host and editor of Brides magazine, Jade Beer, revealed what the Brides reader looks for in a honeymoon. “A Brides reader is not an easy woman to please. She is more demanding than she has ever been about the level of service and luxury she requires,” she said. Wilderness Safaris was given the number one spot for its “pioneering ecotourism ethos and breathtaking portfolio of camps across some of the most remote parts of Africa”.
From hot air ballooning over the vast plains of Kafue’s Busanga Plains in Zambia, to sumptuous private picnics in Hwange after a morning walking safari or atop sand dunes in Namibia’s Skeleton Coast, Wilderness Safaris offers a range of experiences for honeymooners to connect whilst enjoying a sense of seclusion in some of the most spectacular wilderness areas in southern Africa.
“Added to this, several Wilderness Safaris camps include special touches that enhance the natural romantic setting that surrounds them, from indulgent spa treatments, to outdoor baths and even the opportunity to sleep under the night skies in a private Star Bed,” adds Bennett.
Brides, a UK-based bi-monthly publication, which focuses on the latest bridal news and trends, launched its new awards programme to recognise the world’s leading honeymoon operators. Each award was handpicked by the Brides editorial team after reviewing thousands of honeymoon hotspots over the past 10 years.
