July 2017 – Wilderness Safaris is thrilled to announce that no less than 24 of its safari camps in five different countries have received the coveted TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence for 2017. Since the launch of the programme in 2010, Wilderness Safaris camps have repeatedly been recognised in the TripAdvisor Excellence Awards, showcasing the company’s commitment to conserving and restoring Africa’s wilderness and wildlife by creating life-changing journeys and inspiring positive action.
“TripAdvisor is widely regarded as the world’s leading travel review website and a trusted source of independent advice for hundreds of millions of users and we are grateful to have consistently exceeded our guests’ expectations. There can be no better vote of confidence”, said Wilderness Safaris Chief Marketing Officer, Chris Roche.

The TripAdvisor Certificate of Excellence awards celebrate hospitality businesses that consistently achieve outstanding reviews on TripAdvisor and are only given to the top 10 percent of accommodations, attractions, restaurants, and vacation rentals listed on TripAdvisor. A proprietary algorithm takes into account the quality, quantity and opinions submitted by travellers over a 12-month period, as well as the property’s tenure and ranking on the Popularity Index on the site. To qualify, a business must maintain an overall TripAdvisor “bubble rating” of at least four out of five and have a minimum number of reviews on the site.

According to TripAdvisor’s VP of Industry Marketing, Heather Leisman, “This recognition helps travellers identify and book properties that regularly deliver great service. “We hope to continue exceeding our guests’ expectations – not only in terms of offering a life-changing experience to some of Africa’s most pristine wilderness areas, but to also inspire positive action at the same time. In this way we can continue to pioneer authentic and sustainable ecotourism in order to build further sustainable conservation economies in Africa”, Roche concluded.
