Climate and Landscape
In February we experienced a few days with cloud cover, but no rain was recorded this month.
Elephant families were seen by guests out on nature drives, with the many youngsters creating a stir amongst visitors and guides alike.
Desert-adapted lion researcher Dr Philip Stander and brown hyaena researcher Emsie Verwey visited Damaraland Camp and spent time with our guests, talking about human-wildlife conflict, as well as how they are protecting the lions in the area.
February was a fairly quiet month, so Damaraland Camp staff took the time to do some spring-cleaning, a spot of preventative maintenance and a lot of Lobster Ink training. The team washed and cleaned and painted the camp, just in time for Wilderness Safaris Namibia MD, Alexandra Margull’s visit. She was incredibly impressed, especially by the back-of-house area… our team certainly sets the standard!
“A truly memorable stay, the staffs were 5 Star, welcoming, attentive and delightful.”
