Meet the irrepressible Florry Pascolena AKA Lena AKA Mama Namibia – Damaraland Area Manager...

Lena Florry, Damaraland Area Manager

I started as a waitress with Wilderness Safaris and was soon promoted to housekeeper, later becoming a trainee assistant manager at Ongava Tented Camp – all in a period of two years. I moved to Damaraland Camp as assistant manager and was promoted to camp manager.

I have been in the employ of Wilderness Safaris for a total of 18 years and still going strong!

I enjoy seeing the impact that I can make on our guests and staff when it comes to service and going the extra mile for them. Of tremendous importance to me is the delivery of customer service and guest satisfaction.

I believe that eye contact, smiling and actively being part of the conversation makes our guests feel more welcome and enhances their overall experience…

I am passionate about the hospitality industry and want to be successful in my career, but can only achieve this goal through teamwork, job commitment, honesty, meeting our guest needs and expectations, satisfaction, and training.

I lead and train, exchange knowledge and build up successful teams. I listen to other peoples’ views and respect everyone from the youngest to the oldest, and even when the most difficult moment appears in my job my smile still remains the same. I do have a very strong desire to succeed in life, because failing was never my aim.

Being part of the Wilderness Safaris family and understanding the 4Cs has shaped my life and made me the employee I am today.
