Climate and Landscape
December was a wonderful, rainy month that produced amazing scenery. The animals are happy, the trees are green and the flowers are blossoming after we received rain almost every day. The highest amount of rainfall recorded was 42 mm.
We were lucky to experience many babies being born, including the likes of impalas and warthogs.
Elephant have become rarer to see because of the abundance of water now available in the woodlands. The bush has become very thick too, making it challenging to see animals from distance.
Game was amazing however, and the guides reported that while out on drives they spotted leopard, lion and African wild dog.
Thrillingly, sitatunga were sighted in front of camp too.
Guest who stayed with us in December seemed to thoroughly enjoy their stay at Linyanti Tented Camp, with interaction with the staff one of their top highlights. They also loved our ‘tropical’ rain.
Ending the year on a high, we had a fun-filled day with our team and celebrated Christmas in style. We put on a big lunch and game drives were part of the activities we included to spice up the day.
