Fall in love with North Island
February was the month of romance. Couples who celebrated on North Island discovered the perfect private-island setting for their romantic hideaway – be it for Valentine’s Day, their wedding, honeymoon, anniversary, or just because. Recommended by The Telegraph as “one of the most romantic holidays on Earth” and “a wonderful place to honeymoon right now” by Travel + Leisure, North Island received an abundance of love in the form of awards, and topped many “best of” lists this month.

Everyone is part of our conservation team
North Island’s conservation efforts extend to the beautiful waters surrounding the Island, which are teeming with marine life. The Environmental Team and Dive Centre staff regularly collect data on the diversity and abundance of corals, invertebrates and fish life, and soon guests can get even more involved. The end goal is sufficient evidence to protect our precious reefs by becoming a designated Ecological Marine Protected Area.

Meet Ritval Pillay
Ritval Pillay joined the North Island team in 2014 in the Activities Centre. Ritval is a 60 Nautical-mile Skipper who captains the flotilla of boats that adorn the Island’s beautiful bays and accompanies guests on snorkelling, diving trips and sunset cruises. Born and bred in the Seychelles, he knows the best fishing locations and is also here to sort out your rods and tackle whilst guiding you to achieve your best deep-sea catch. Ritval is a passionate Rescue Diver and is currently studying to take his skills to the next level and become a Dive Master and ultimately Dive Instructor.
