Climate and Landscape
The weather was mostly partly cloudy with hot days and cool mornings, and an average minimum temperature of 18° Celsius with a maximum of 36° C. We also recorded rain regularly: a minimum of 15 mm and maximum of 35 mm.
The Abu Concession is still proving to be extremely productive game-wise, and the Abu Pride of five lions (two females and three cubs) was seen on an almost daily basis. They were spotted around Seba’s old picnic spot feeding on a kudu, and also seen chasing a male leopard south of Deep Crossing.
Two male lions were seen at Old Airstrip and they were also spotted on a buffalo kill near the Seba pizza spot.
Seba’s resident leopard Bame was also seen every week with her male cub – at Maday Island and also at Seba West mokoro station, feeding on a young wildebeest.
Wild dogs were a daily sighting in the concession; a pack of 14 was spotted at Dead Wood Pan, a pack of 10 at the pizza spot, a pack of eight at Mafunyane Pool and another two seen in camp at Tent 8, crossing the channel.
“Seba was amazing in every possible way – we were spoilt and absolutely loved our experience. Thank you.”
“Some highlights of my stay include watching two leopards play, a group of wild dog hunt and hippo in the water.”
“The staff was incredibly welcoming. The camp was charming, the location is fantastic. Thank you for such a warm and welcoming at Seba. My wife and I did not know what to expect from this experience. The level of warmth and support from your staff was excellent. We are amazed at how much it improved the experience. Thank you, thank you, thank you.”
