Segera Retreat Shortlisted for Three 2015 “We Are Africa” Awards! The annual "We Are Africa" Innovation Awards reveal the most inventive, inspiring and unexpected achievements defining the next chapter of African travel, so it's with great excitement that Segera announces its successful advance into the shortlist in three separate categories: Design Africa, Shape Africa and Engage Africa. Watch this space to see how we get on!

Artist in Residence
Segera's Artist in Residence programme will be launched shortly, starting with the first artist who will spend the month of August 2015 at Segera Retreat, the East African hub of Zeitz MOCAA. Visiting Segera when an artist is in residence offers you an extraordinary opportunity to directly engage with the leading artists of our time.

Through experiencing this inspiring environment together, including dining together and other social activities, guests can learn first-hand about the artist's work, their research at Segera, their studio practice and the current issues artists are engaging with. This is a rare opportunity to be in the presence of individuals who are creating the history of art of our time.

Wildlife
So far 2015 has brought an abundance of wildlife to Greater Segera, enjoyed equally by guests and our own team alike. A highlight (and distraction) during the Wilderness Safaris 2015 Board Meeting at Segera was the news of a leopard kill less than a kilometre from Segera Retreat – which everyone was able to see first-hand, with some large male lions on the way… Truly a day when the big cats of Segera came out to play!
