During the week we had the pleasure of watching this incredible footage captured by Vumbura Plains Guide Emang Letlhare.

Emang and his guests happened to spot the lioness on their morning game drive. The group had the privilege of watching the lioness as she moved through a channel – carefully carrying one cub while the other kitty-paddled bravely beside her.

Lions in the Okavango Delta are well-known for their swimming abilities and have learnt to adapt to their watery surroundings in this world-renowned inland delta, one of only a handful on the planet. Lions will look for the best route to cross a channel but there’s always a high risk of doing so with crocodiles around. Fortunately all three lions made it across safely.
