Experiences with wildlife, being in truly remote locations and interacting with our staff are the primary reasons that our guests choose to travel with Wilderness. But more than this; when you journey with us, you are helping make a difference – to Africa, its people and its wildlife.

By the Numbers
Your booking contributes to our efforts in the following ways:

66% - Employment of rural communities in our camps as well as all other staff in our camps, aircraft and offices.
7% - GDP contribution of the governments with which we work.
4% - Payment of loans and other forms of funding provided to Wilderness Safaris in order for us to grow our conservation footprint in Africa.
10% - Shareholders of Wilderness Safaris that allow us to continue to build conservation economies.
13% - Goes towards maintenance of our camps to ensure that our guests have a superior experience with us, while also ensuring it is a responsible one through sustainable business practices.

Where some of the difference is made
A portion of every bednight that you book with us is dedicated to conservation. A percentage goes to the Wilderness Wildlife Trust, our non-profit entity that supports a wide variety of projects throughout Africa: from research and conservation to wildlife management and educational bursaries.

Another share is portioned off to be used throughout the organisation in protecting and nurturing our wild places, in uplifting the communities that live adjacent to these, and in ensuring that our camps step with as light a footprint as possible on the Earth.

Our pride and joy is our Children in the Wilderness programme, which aims to educate the youth of Africa, inspiring and helping them to appreciate and thus protect their magnificent natural heritage.
